Yellow box junction

Yellow box junction

What it means

Criss-cross yellow lines painted across a junction, so that queuing traffic does not block it for everyone else. You MUST NOT enter the box until your exit road or lane is clear (Rule 174). The exception is turning right: you may enter the box and wait when you are only stopped from turning by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right. At signalled roundabouts you MUST NOT enter the box unless you can cross over it completely without stopping.
