Free theory test practice and full mock tests
Practise the UK car theory test free — no account needed for the diagnostic — then work through mock tests up to the full 50-question format, built on the DVSA revision question bank.
This product includes the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) revision question bank.
What you get
Three lengths, so practice fits the time you have
A quick 10-question round takes about five minutes and is marked as you go — free, and unlimited, with a free account. The 25-question test is long enough to show a pattern in what you keep missing, and the full 50-question mock runs to the same length and the same 57-minute limit as the real DVSA theory test, with answers held back until you submit — both part of Premium, and the ones that tell you whether you are actually ready rather than whether you know one topic.
Built on the DVSA revision question bank
The questions come from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency revision question bank, used under licence — DVSA's own revision material, not approximations written to look like it. Every question carries the rule behind the answer, because the rule is what transfers when the same point appears on the day worded differently.
Results that tell you what to revise
A score on its own does not tell you what to do next. Each result groups the questions you missed by topic and links straight to the written module covering it, so you fix the topic rather than memorising the individual question. Weak topics are tracked across every attempt, not just your last one.
How many mocks before you book
There is no official number, and anyone quoting one is guessing. A more useful rule: keep going until you are scoring consistently above the 43-out-of-50 pass mark on full-length tests you have not seen before. One score above the line can be luck; several in a row is readiness. Working under the clock is a separate skill from knowing the answers, so at least some of those should be timed.
Start without an account
The 25-question diagnostic needs no sign-up — take it now and see your score and weak topics straight away. A free account saves your scores so you can see whether you are improving, tracks weak topics across attempts, and lets you pick up an unfinished test where you left off.
Practice is only half of it
Sitting test after test until a good score turns up is the slow way round, because a mock test measures what you know rather than teaching it. The quicker loop is short test, read the explanations on everything you got wrong, revise that topic properly in the written modules, then retest. Mock tests are the measurement; the modules and the explanations are where the score actually moves.
Questions learners ask
Is the theory test practice free?
Yes. The 25-question diagnostic needs no account at all, and a free account adds unlimited 10-question quick practice with saved scores and weak-topic tracking. The 25 and 50-question mock tests are part of Premium.
How many questions are in the real theory test?
The UK car theory test has 50 multiple-choice questions with 57 minutes to answer them, followed by the hazard perception test.
What score do you need to pass?
43 out of 50 on the multiple-choice section. You also need to pass hazard perception separately in the same appointment.
Do these mock tests match the real test?
The full 50-question mock uses the same length, the same 57-minute limit and the DVSA revision question bank. It is practice, not the real test, and passing here is not a guarantee of passing on the day.
