Road markings
Double red lines (red route)
What it means
Two red lines along the edge of the road mark a red route, and a double red line always means no stopping at any time, even where there is no upright sign. You MUST NOT stop or park on red lines on a red route (Rule 240) - not to park, not to load or unload, and not to let passengers in or out. The exceptions are licensed taxis, and Blue Badge holders stopping to pick up or set down, but not to park. The ban covers the road, the pavement and the verge.
