Bus lane

Bus lane

What it means

A lane marked off by a solid white line with BUS LANE written in it. Upright signs show which other vehicles may use it - often cycles and taxis - and its hours of operation; where no times are shown, it operates at all times. Unless the signs include you, you should not drive in a bus lane during its period of operation (Rule 141). You may enter it to stop, load or unload where that is not prohibited. The yellow line beside the kerb is a separate waiting restriction.
