Road works and temporary
Temporary access to a construction or road works site
What it means
A white-on-red sign marking a temporary way into the works site for site traffic, not for you. You'll meet it on the run-up to bigger works, usually on faster roads. Drive past it, and watch the lorry in front — it may brake hard and swing wide to turn in across your path.
Highway Code Rule 288 — read it on GOV.UK
