Loose chippings on road ahead
What it means
Fresh chippings sit loose on a newly dressed surface, so grip is poor and stones get thrown up. There's usually a plate advising 20 mph. Slow right down, brake and steer gently, and leave a big gap — get too close and you'll take the stones the car in front throws up.
