What it means

This is the plate under the road works triangle telling you what the work actually is — resurfacing, line painting, cable laying. You'll see it on the approach to works anywhere from a housing estate to a motorway. Use it to picture what's coming: workers on foot, loose surface or wet paint, and ease off early.
