Stop line at traffic lights or police control

Stop line at traffic lights or police control

What it means

A single solid white line straight across your side of the road, where traffic lights or a police officer control the traffic. When the red light is showing you MUST NOT move forward over the white line (Rule 176), so stop with the front of your car behind it rather than on it. If an officer is directing traffic, it is where you wait when signalled to stop.
