Stop line at a Stop sign

Stop line at a Stop sign

What it means

A thick solid white line across the end of a road, used with the red eight-sided Stop sign. You MUST stop behind the line (Rule 171) every time, even if you can see the road is clear - rolling slowly over it is not stopping. Then wait for a safe gap in the traffic before you move off.
