Road markings
Single yellow line
What it means
One yellow line along the edge of the road means no waiting during the times shown on a nearby plate - in this picture, 8 am to 6 pm. You MUST NOT wait or park on it during those times (Rule 238). If the plate shows no days, the restriction applies every day, including Sundays and bank holidays. In a controlled parking zone the times are on the signs where you enter the zone instead. You may still stop to let passengers get in or out, or to load or unload, unless there are loading restrictions too.
