Speed limit signs
National speed limits apply
What it means
The black diagonal means the national speed limit applies - not that speed stops mattering. For a car that is 60 mph on a single carriageway and 70 on a dual carriageway, and lower again if you are towing. Work out which road you are on, then drive to the conditions, often well under 60 on a lane.
