Give way lines at a junction

Give way lines at a junction

What it means

Two broken white lines across the end of a road mean traffic on the major road has priority. You MUST give way to traffic on the main road when emerging from a junction with broken white lines across the road (Rule 172). Look both ways and wait behind the lines for a safe gap; unlike at a Stop line, if you can see the way is clear you do not have to come to a halt. The same double line is sometimes used at mini-roundabouts.
