Motorway signs
Entrance to a motorway service area
What it means
The chevron points to the way into the services, where you stop for fuel, food or a rest on a long run. Come off gently and watch your speed, because after a spell at 70 the car park will feel painfully slow. You MUST NOT stop on the carriageway except in an emergency.
Highway Code Rule 271 — read it on GOV.UK
