Direction to emergency exit for pedestrians from a tunnel
What it means
Green signs inside a road tunnel point to the nearest emergency exit for people on foot, and they're repeated along the tunnel wall. You'll only meet them in long road tunnels. Clock which way the nearest one lies as you drive in, because smoke can hide them exactly when you need them.
