Vehicular traffic may reach the same destination by passing either side of the sign
What it means
Both arrows say the same thing: you may pass the obstruction on either side and still end up on the same road. It marks a central island, a bollard or a tree splitting the carriageway. Choose your side early, signal if it helps the driver behind, and do not dither in the middle.
