Motor vehicles prohibited sign

What it means

No motor vehicles at all beyond here: cars, vans, motorbikes and mopeds. It is used to keep engines out of pedestrianised streets, quiet lanes and park roads. You MUST NOT drive past it, but always read any plate underneath, as many allow access to premises or let permit holders through.

Highway Code Rule 109 — read it on GOV.UK
