Steep hill downwards ahead (10%)
What it means
A steep descent is coming, and 10% means the road drops one metre for every ten you travel forward. Long hills on rural and moorland roads are the usual ones. Change down to a lower gear before you start down so the engine helps hold the car back, instead of riding the brakes until they fade.
