When the sat nav bundles two manoeuvres into one line - "at the end of the road, turn right then turn left" - you still have to treat them as two separate decisions, made in quick succession rather than as a single action.

Sat nav instructions on the test often combine steps like this - examiners want to see each turn executed properly, not just the end result reached.
Key steps
- 1 Listen for both parts of the instruction and hold them in mind as two separate turns, not one combined move.
- 2 Complete the first turn (right) fully under control before starting to plan the second.
- 3 Re-check mirrors, signal, and the road for the second turn (left) as its own decision, even though it follows immediately.
- 4 Let the road and signals decide the timing between the two turns - don't rush the second because the sat nav implied they're linked.
Common mistakes
Treating the combined instruction as one manoeuvre
Separate it into two turns in your head as soon as you hear it, so you check and signal for each one properly.
Rushing the second turn because it follows immediately
Give the second turn the same mirrors-signal-position routine as the first, even with only a short gap between them.
